Summary

Bulk editing allows you to save time by editing personas' details in an excel spreadsheet. You can use this approach to edit any information of your personas ranging from their details, permissions and channel status to historic content, social graph status and tags.

Export/Import spreadsheet

In order to to edit personas, you first need to export the relevant file. This can be done by going to Personas and clicking the Bulk persona editing button in the top-right corner (viz. image). Then, you can export a file depending on what information you wish to edit. 

After you finish editing the spreadsheet, simply save the file and import it. The changes made in the file will now be reflected in the app. As these edits will replace the existing information, you might want to make a back up of the original excel file.

Persona Details

You can edit most of the persona information in this file, including the basic details such as name and handle, or social media information (except channel status). 

To edit information you can use the following:

  • Text - Name, handle, faction, etc.
  • Numbers - Creation date, number of followers, number of posts, etc.
  • URL - Images
  • 0/1 - For columns that represent tick-boxes in the app, e.g. role-player (RP) or Twitter verification. Note that 0 means "no" and 1 means "yes" (unticked/ticked)

 


Persona Permissions

Persona permissions are used for impersonation - more information can be found in the dedicated article.

To edit persona permissions, simply enter the name of the position which should have permissions for the given persona.

Note: If you wish to assign several positions to a single persona, just separate them by a comma (e.g. Player 1, Player 2, Player3).

Channel Status


Channel status is used to determine what social media is the given persona active on. Personas will not appear on social media on which they are inactive.

In the spreadsheet, you can use the following:

  • 0 - Persona is inactive on the given social media platform
  • 1 - Persona is active on the given social media platform but has no historic content
  • 2 - Persona is active on the given social media platform and has historic content

For example, the image above shows us that Anna Moss has active Microblog and GoSocial accounts but has no historic content on these. April Lee has only her GoSocial account active but has a historic content. 
 


Historic Content

Historic content allows you to edit past articles on article-based websites - more information can be found in the dedicated article.

To edit the details, you can use the following: 

  •  Text - Subject, message, etc.
  • Numbers - Time, timestamp, etc.
  • URL - Images

Hide from Social Graph

This features allows you to hide the chosen persona from the social graph - more information can be found in the dedicated article.

To choose whether or not persona will be visible in the social graph, you can use the following: 

  • 0 - Persona will not be visible in the social graph (following/followers)
  • 1 - Persona will be visible in the social graph (following/followers)

Persona Tags


Persona tags allows you to edit the tags as well as disposition, Affiliation and A3E.

For each of those you can use the following:

  • Tags - Any text of your choosing
  • Disposition - Number ranging from -5 to 5 
  • Affiliation - Unknown, Neutral, Friend, Enemy
  • A3E - Ally, Audience, Actor, Adversary, Enemy
